Tamu; meaning 'sweet' in Swahili is grown by small, family owned farms in the Eastern coffee growing areas of Kenya. Farms average in size up to 10 hectares with approximately 200 trees. Tamu is a unique blend developed for us by Taylor Winch. [Volcafe Kenya] Tamu is a mix of various grades which keeps the price highly competitive while still carrying the essential flavour notes that we adore from the origin.

 

Taylor-Winch was originally established in the early 60,s primarily Peter Winch and his wife Rosemary Taylor with Volcafe taking a minority equity interest first then fully owning the business in 2006. Based in Nairobi, Taylor Winch’s core business and focus is quality green coffee to the global market. Daily cupping of auction offerings, export administration and the all-important quality control are run from the main office.

Deliciously drinkable and now tragically gone

These beans were phenomenal. The smell after roasting and waiting for them to release was delicious as was the flavour. They were SUPER easy to drink and now sadly the bag is empty
