Pros: Easy to use, fast roasting, repeatable results, 100% chaff removal, can roast consistently excellent coffee beans from light to Espresso. With the smoke exhausting from the top, it doesn't stay on the beans muddying the flavor. I have gotten the exact flavors I expected from each batch. Each batch takes under 15 minutes from measuring the beans, pouring them in, adjusting the settings, hitting start, roasting, cooling, emptying the chaff, and putting the roasted beans away. You could do back to back batches, but remember this is not for commercial use. Start a batch while washing the dishes, it only adds a minute or two of work to your routine. The machine must be used either under an extracting kitchen cooktop vent, or outside. One of the best features is that you don't need to babysit the machine during operation. You should still be in earshot of the machine while it runs, but it turns to cooling once it's reached the programmed level of roasting. I have never had any issue.

Cons: Yes, it's pricey, but you get what you pay for. The machine is heavy, and requires two hands to empty. Someone very frail might have difficulty emptying the beans. The only other con is the batch size. We mostly drink espresso drinks and don't mind roasting twice a week for the family, but if you were an auto-drip coffee drinker you'd need to roast daily if you brew a full carafe.
