Excelso offers more ZING in the cup with that sharper acidity that cuts through milk better.
Colombian coffees, grown in the Medellin region of central Colombia, are very versatile. This bean is particularly well suited to being served as a single origin espresso. Colombian coffee typically produces a quite complex cup, hazelnut and caramel are the major flavours distinguishing this bean making it suitable as both a medium or dark roast.
Colombia is the world’s third largest producer of coffee, with coffee grown by over 500,000 producers over more than 900,000 hectares of land. 2.4 million Colombians economically depend on coffee production, which is about quarter of the country’s rural population.
In the main, Colombian growers are small producers, with only 5% of farms cultivating more than 5 hectares in coffee.
